TISSA begins manufacturing sophisticated technical fabrics in Oberkulm AG, Switzerland. The roots go back to the times of emerging industrialisation, when the water power originally used by grain mills was gradually used for other purposes.
Expansion into Bosnia
The company expands operations by opening a facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Novi Travnik, establishing the dual presence that today employs 39 people across two continents.
Company Split
The company is split into two operating sister companies: TISSA ImCut AG concentrates on the finishing and making-up of technical fabrics. TISSA Glasweberei AG focuses on the production of customer-specific special fabrics (glass, carbon, aramid, basalt, polyester, polypropylene, Dyneema, Zylon).
Management Buy-Out: Succession Secured
The company's succession was sustainably secured through a management buy-out, with the executive board acquiring the holding shares — ensuring the owner-managed future of this long-standing family enterprise.
